Eagle Scout Project replaces turf in Batting Cages

Jackson Liebman is working toward the completion of his Eagle Scout rank in Scouts BSA.  Jackson is also a very committed baseball player who has played many games at Memorial Park over the years.  When choosing a project to help improve the community, Jackson knew he wanted to give back to the place where his baseball journey began.  The cage turf was removed last year after years of wear and in need of replacement.

Jackson worked with a number of organizations to secure the materials and volunteers needed to lay turf in the batting cages.  Donald Driver donated the turf; JM Carpets donated the special glue needed to secure the turf to concrete and Park and Rec donated the labor and machines to get the turf off the trailer and in place for Jackson's volunteers to cut and lay out the material.  There is even enough turf remaining that we will be able to lay in the tee box areas to make the entire area better and safer for the kids to use--watch for the Spring workday emails in the coming months.

Thank you, Jackson for making a huge improvement in the area that all kids need to work in to improve their baseball experience.  Best of luck completing your Eagle award.
